Rhode Island School of Design Museum

The Rhode Iceland School of Design Museum is one of the most important art museums in the United States. It is located on the east coast in Providence, the capital of the State of Rhode Iceland.

The museum was founded in 1877 as an institution of Rhode Iceland School of Design, RISD short and is located on the campus of this very prestigious art academy, which is nationally known for her master's program for Master of Fine Arts ( MFA) in the USA. The campus connects directly to the Brown University.

Collections

The RISD Museum is one of the major art museums in the United States. The collections include not only starting with the Ancient Art of Europe, the art of Asia and Africa, the indigenous ancient art of the Americas. Regional, the focus starting with the 17th century in the furniture of Goddard and Townsend of Newport on Paul Revere and Thomas Cole and the portraitist Gilbert Stuart to American Impressionists such as Noble Barlow. Among the international Must sizes of the museum include works by Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Pierre- Auguste Renoir and Andy Warhol. Overall, there are the collections of more than 80,000 works of art.
