Ri Song-hui

Ri Song -hui (born 3 December 1978) is a North Korean weightlifter.

Career

Ri Song -hui began at age 14 with the weight lifting. In 1996, she appeared with a capacity of 182.5 kg in the weight class up to 50 kg body weight on the 2nd place of the annual World leaderboard. International she made her first appearance in 1997, when she finished body weight at the World Championships in Chiang Mai / Thailand, 2nd place in the weight class up to 54 kg. Then until 2004, she competed at all the major international events, once was world champion in the all around and twice won an Olympic silver medal. Disappointing for she was sure that in the absence of high favorite Chen Yanqing she could not take the chance to Olympic victory at the Olympic Games in 2000 and surprisingly the Mexican Soraya Jimenez defeated because of a weak form on the day. Otherwise, they delivered with the Olympic champions Udomporn Polsak from Thailand and Chen Yanqing at many events hot battles.
