Cangas in the Ria of Vigo

The Ria of Vigo ( Spanish: Ría de Vigo) is located in the south of the province of Pontevedra in Galicia Spain. This deep into the country reaching Bay is the southernmost of the Rias Baixas. The Vigo Ria extends over a length of 35 km from the mouth of the Cape Silleiro (Cabo Silleiro ) to Santiago de Arcade ( at Sotomayor ), with a maximum width of 7 km. Before the western entrance are the uninhabited Illas Cies, part of the National Park of the Atlantic Islands. In the north forms the peninsula of Morrazo their border, in the south lies the eponymous city of Vigo.

Because of the easy access with great depth and calm waters of the bay of Vigo is regarded as an ideal retreat for sailing and water sports.
