Riadh Sidaoui

Riadh Sidaoui (Arabic رياض الصيداوي, DMG Riyad al - Ṣaydāwī, born May 14, 1967 in Bou Hajla is a writer and political scientist with Tunisian nationality.

He is Director of the Centre de Recherches Politiques & Analyses & Sociales ( Caraps ) in Geneva and editor of the websites Taqadoumiya (Arabic التقدمية ) since 2010 and The Progressive since 2011, which is censored in Saudi Arabia. He published articles, particularly in the London-based newspaper al -Hayat, al -Quds al Azzaman and - Arab.

He is expert on the Arab world, Islamism and democratization processes in the region. He is one of the proponents of democratization in the Arab world and the emancipation of Muslim women. For him, the Saudi Wahhabism is a danger to Islam, Muslims and humanity.

While the Arab Spring, he pleaded for the establishment of the welfare state, which protects the citizens, and by the organization of municipal build true democracy.

Training

Riadh Sidaoui grew up in the city Bouhajla. After high school he studied at the Institut de presse et des sciences de l'information and at the Faculte de droit et des sciences politiques in Tunis, where he earned a degree in political science in 1995.

In 1994 he left Tunis to Geneva. He studied first at the Institut universitaire d' études du développement and the faculté des sciences sociales et économiques the University of Geneva.
