Ricardo Villalobos

Ricardo Villalobos ( born August 6, 1970 in Santiago de Chile) is a Berlin based DJ and musician with Chilean father and German mother, who grew up and worked in Germany, and by a cross-genre own style mix of House, Techno, Minimal Techno and South American - has made a name for percussive sounds.

Life

Ricardo Villalobos has both the German as well as the Chilean citizenship. He came as an infant to Germany after his parents were forced to leave as a result of the military coup in Chile. The family settled in Seeheim- Jugenheim. At an early stage Villalobos excited for music. His father had him according to his information an important role model and mentor, through him he learned many genres know: the estimated within the family of Friends salsa, but also rock and electronic music. Already as a teenager he learned to play the drums with congas and played live at dance events of his father's friends, who ran an event agency.
