Richard Carle

Richard Carle (* July 7, 1871 in Somerville, Massachusetts, † 28 June 1941 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Carle worked as a newspaper delivery boy and singer. In 1915 Carle was an extra in his first, not very significant films. 1917 Richard moved as a U.S. soldier in the First World War. He survived the war years unscathed and played his first starring role in the 1925 film The Impossible Wedding. His roles were mostly grumpy millionaires or house servants. One of his greatest successes came with the Ernst Lubitsch film Ninotchka, in which he played a Count servant.

Carle died on 1941 in the north of Hollywood of a heart attack.
