Richard Clogg

Richard Clogg (* 1939 in Rochdale ) is a British historian.

Life

Richard Clogg studied history at the University of Edinburgh where he earned his master's degree in 1963. Since 1969 he taught modern Greek history at King's College London, first as a lecturer, then as a reader, finally from 1988 to 1995 as a professor of history of the Balkans. Since 1995 he is a Senior Research Fellow and Board Member at St Antony's College, Oxford University.

Work

Clogg came forward with publications on modern Greek history. His Concise History of Greece (1992 ) is considered the standard work and has been translated into many languages ​​; She was awarded the Runciman Award 1993. Clogg 2002, the Gold Cross of the Greek Order of Merit ( " Τάγμα Αριστείας της τιμής " ) was awarded by the President of Greece.
