Richard Haynes (musician)

Richard Haynes ( born April 18, 1983 in Brisbane, Australia) is an Australian clarinettist.

Richard Haynes studied clarinet and bass clarinet at Griffith University, Brisbane with Floyd Williams, Brian Catch Love and Diana Tolmie and at the Hochschule der Künste Bern with Ernesto Molinari and Donna Wagner Molinari. Haynes specializes in the performance practice of contemporary music and improvisation. Since 2005 he is a member of the Australian ELISION ensembles, an international ensemble for contemporary music and for some years a member of the German -Swiss ensemble Praesenz and the New Zealand ensembles stroma. In Europe, he has collaborated on projects with Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt am Main ), Klang Forum Wien (Vienna), musikFabrik (Cologne) and CIKADA (Oslo ).
