Richard Hell and The Voidoids
Richard Hell and The Voidoids were an American punk band. They were known for their nihilistic mood. The song Blank Generation on the eponymous album became an anthem of the New York punk movement.
History
Richard Hell had separated in May 1975 by Television and The Heartbreakers Johnny Thunders and Jerry founded by Nolan, who left the New York Dolls. In 1976, however, came to a break and Hell left the band. In the same year he founded with Robert Quine, Ivan Julian and Marc Bell Richard Hell and The Voidoids in 1977 released their first album, Blank Generation. In the following years, Bright was due to his drug addiction not in a position to shoot. Five years later, to record a second album succeeded. Destiny Street, however, should also be the last studio recording, because in the same year, the band split. Was released in 1989 with Funhunt: a live album Live at the CBGB's.
While Hell just once let out as a musician of the beginning of the 1990s, Robert Quine remained as a guitarist among others, Brian Eno and Lou Reed, and Marc Bell as Marky Ramone in the Ramones in the music industry known.
