Richard L. Nolan

Richard L. Nolan ( born April 28, 1940) is since 2003 Professor of Management and Organization at the University of Washington Michael G. Foster School of Business in Seattle. From 1991 to 2003 he was a professor at Harvard.

Richard Nolan is known by many publications on IT and Management. In his theory of stages it has the development of information technology in enterprises categorized (more than 10 years before the Capability Maturity Model ). He published together with F. Warren McFarlan Some Paper.

Richard Nolan was the founder (1977) and until 1991, Chairman of the IT consulting firm Nolan Norton & Company ( acquired by KPMG in 1987, 2002 were adopted by Atos Origin ). Richard Nolan is since 1998 director of the board of Novell.
