Richard Lauchert

Richard L. Lauchert ( born February 4, 1823 in Sigmaringen, † December 27, 1868 in Berlin) was a German painter.

Lauchert studied from 1839 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Peter von Cornelius. In 1845 he went to Paris and worked at times together with Franz Xaver Winterhalter. In 1858 he settled as a freelance painter settled in Berlin and was there as a "painter of the highest circles of society." He worked as a court painter at the Berlin court and portrayed among other Lieutenant Colonel Freiherr von Moltke.

On April 30, 1857, he married in Herb lives in Gotha Princess Amalie Adelheid von Hohenlohe ( 1821-1902 ), against the wishes of her family. She took after her marriage to her husband's name. Prince Franz Joseph to Hohenlohe, together with his wife Princess Caroline Friederike zu Hohenlohe- Lauenburg Laucherts laws.

Lauchert was Hohenzollern court painter and enjoyed extraordinary popularity as a portrait painter in the aristocracy. For most farms in Germany, Russia and England, he created images ( mostly portraits ), which show an elegant, slightly sweet and pleasing view color but do not go beyond the superficial fashion painting.

On December 27, 1868 Lauchert died in Berlin.
