Richard Podolor
Richie Allen ( actually Richard Podolor; born 1940 in California ) was an American surf - sound musicians of the 1960s.
Allen was a guitarist first and foremost a busier session musicians in the Southern California surf music scene, who was involved in particular for producer Gary Usher on many recordings, including with Sandy Nelson Teen Beat. He published some recordings under his own name ( with his " backing band " The Pacific Surfers ), but returned after only moderate success back to sessions. Only his single Stranger From Durango was also placed in the U.S. singles charts.
Towards the end of the decade, Allen concentrated, now under his birth name Podolor, on producing, as with Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf and Three Dog Night.
