Richard Stika

Richard Frank Stika ( born July 4, 1957 in Saint Louis) is an American Bishop of Knoxville.

Life

The Archbishop Emeritus of Saint Louis, John Joseph Cardinal Carberry, ordained him a deacon on 1 May 1985 and the Archbishop of Saint Louis, John Lawrence May, on 14 December 1985 for the priest.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 12 January 2009 as Bishop of Knoxville. The archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal Justin Francis Rigali, gave him on 19 March of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Joseph Edward Kurtz, Archbishop of Louisville, and Robert Joseph Shaheen, Bishop of Our Lady of Lebanon in Los Angeles.
