Richie Faulkner

Richard Ian Faulkner ( born January 1, 1980 in London ) is a British guitarist and songwriter, a member since 2011 of the British heavy metal band Judas Priest.

Biography

Childhood and youth

After he had convinced his parents that his piano lessons was too boring for him, Richie Faulkner got his first electric guitar at the age of nine years. From Jimi Hendrix inspired, he began to act out the songs and had already at the age of 13 years, his first gigs in London pubs.

Musical Career

Richie Faulkner first played at Dirty Deeds and Voodoo Six, before 2005, the band by Lauren Harris himself - the daughter of Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris - joined. This was followed by live appearances at festivals as well as opening for bands like Iron Maiden and Within Temptation. In 2008, the album Calm Before the Storm was released.

On 20 April 2011 the British heavy metal band Judas Priest announced that their longtime guitarist KK Downing has left the band. At the same time Richie Faulkner was presented as his successor.

Making his first appearance with Judas Priest had Faulkner on May 25, 2011, when the band played the song Living After Midnight and Breaking the Law in the U.S. television show American Idol.

On 7 June 2011, the Epitaph World Tour, Faulkner's first tour with Judas Priest began. From the final concert of the tour, which took place in London on 26 March 2012, a DVD entitled Epitaph was published.

Others

Richie Faulkner was also involved in other bands ( Ace Mafia, Parramon ) and projects. For the Heavy Metal album Charlemagne: The Omens of Death by Christopher Lee, which was released on May 27, 2013, he arranged the music.
