Sauna Open Air Metal Festival
The Sauna Open Air Metal Festival, shortly Sauna Open Air or just Sauna, is one of the biggest music festivals for Metal bands in the Nordic countries. Since 2004 it is held annually on the first or second weekend of June in Ratinanniemi Park in Tampere, Finland. In addition to large successful bands, the festival is also keen to undertake newcomers who receive the same support as the big names.
From 8 to 10 June 2006 was attended by over 20,000 metal fans to bands like Cradle of Filth, Finntroll, Iggy & the Stooges, Lordi, Twisted Sister and WASP to see. 2007, more than 22,000 fans the festival. In 2011 they reached the previous attendance record with 26,000 spectators. Headliner 2011, Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest.
2012 since 2004 was the Festival took place not. After a one year break, the event will go again in 2013.
