August Burns Red

August Burns Red is a Christian metalcore band, which was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania ( USA) in 2003.

Band name

The band was often asked for her name, especially after the emergence and whether a meaning behind it. The most popular story tells of a high school girlfriend of the singer of the band, August, who is said to have after their separation, lit his dog Redd. Only later came out that this was just a joke band, and nothing is hidden behind their name. Drummer Matt Greiner said in an interview that she came up with this name because they had to come to a name.

Style

The band is primarily known for their heavy breakdowns and rhythmically complex riffs. It describes Between the Buried and Me, Misery Signals and Hopesfall as their main influences.

History

August Burns Red was founded in March 2003, when the members were still in high school.

The band signed in 2004 a contract with CI Records and released the EP Looks Fragile After All. After one year, during which the band was mostly on tour, she moved in 2005 to Solid State Records and released on November 8, the debut album Thrill Seeker.

The second album Messengers was released on 19 June 2007. It reached # 1 on the U.S. album charts and Christian was sold to date, over 75,000 times.

From April to May 2008 were August Burns Red with As I Lay Dying and Misery Signals tour. From August to October 2008, the band went as headliners, accompanied by A Skylit Drive, Sky Eats Airplane, Greeley Estates, and This or the Apocalypse, on tour. In November 2008, followed one month tour of the United Kingdom and Europe. The band recorded an instrumental version of the classic " Carol of the Bells", which was also used for the film The Spirit and the American Dad episode For Whom The Sleigh Bell Tolls (# 104 ( 6-08 ) ).

From July 10 to August 8 August Burns Red led on a tour with Blessthefall, Enter Shikari, All Shall Perish and Iwrestledabearonce. They also pledged to support Bring Me the Horizon on their UK tour in October 2009 with A Day to Remember.

The album Constellations reached in the first week after publication the 24th place on the Billboard charts. The premiere of the music video to " Meddler " took place on their MySpace page on July 28, 2009. On September 28, the first DVD of the band appeared under the name of Home, on which were, among other recordings of a live appearance in their hometown of Lancaster.

On 31 March 2011 launched on the website of the band, a countdown, which refers to the release of the new studio album, which fell on June 21. On April 5, the band finally announced officially that the new album is called " Leveler ". On May 16, the first song "Empire " was released. Meanwhile, the album sold over 29,000 times in the U.S.. The music videos of Internal Cannon and Empire have also been published.

On June 25, 2013 their sixth studio album was released in the meantime Rescue & Restore.
