Joe Lynn Turner

Joe Lynn Turner ( born August 2, 1951 in Hackensack, New Jersey) is an American singer. He is best known for his involvement in the rock bands Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen 's Rising Force and Deep Purple.

Biography

After his first experience in the bands Filet of Soul and Ezra, Joe Lynn Turner, 1977, the formation Fandango joined as a guitarist and singer. Created four albums in that time. Through his work at Fandango Ritchie Blackmore became aware of him, as it was looking for a lead singer for his band Rainbow. Since consisting predominantly of British band now until then had an American as a singer, they tried to land on the U.S. market.

1984 Rainbow was laid by Blackmore on ice to leave Deep Purple rise again. Turner first worked alone and brought in 1985 his first solo LP out, " Rescue You". He recorded a number of albums and it also developed into one of the most sought after session musicians in the industry.

In the fall of 1986, the former Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Asia drummer Carl Palmer tried in New York City, put together a new band. Possible musicians this Joe Lynn Turner, former Foreigner keyboardist Al Greenwood and the Californian singer, bassist and guitarist Robert Berry had brought. 1990 Turner then worked at Deep Purple during the recording of the album " Slaves And Masters " and on the tour. It was originally planned as a guitarist for the band Bruce Kulick, who, however, was ruled out of his appointments with Grand Funk Railroad. However, Jeff Watson was shortly afterwards replaced by Karl Cochran, who had also played in Joe Lynn Turner's solo band. The band is now called Rated X.
