Timo Kotipelto

Timo Kotipelto ( born March 15, 1969 in Lappajärvi, Finland) is the vocalist of the Finnish power metal band Stratovarius.

Life

Kotipelto took five years singing lessons at the music school in Helsinki. During this time he sang for the amateur cover band Filthy Asses. In the summer of 1994 he attended a casting of the band Stratovarius, who were looking for a singer at that time, and was accepted into the band. The first album, which he recorded with the band was Fourth Dimension in 1995. It is obvious that Stratovarius could only obtain with Kotipelto 's voice international fame.

The end of 2003 Timo Tolkki announced that Kotipelto was thrown out of the band and will be replaced on future albums by the Finnish singer Katriina Wiiala. After thus chaotic year 2004, in the Stratovarius an apparent " farewell tour " took, he returned in January 2005 but returned to the band.

Kotipelto has also released three solo albums, including with the support of members of the band Symphony X, Children Of Bodom, HIM, Sonata Arctica and Thunderstone. He has collaborated several times as a guest vocalist with at warm.
