Jani Liimatainen

Jani Liimatainen ( born September 9, 1980 in Kemi, Finland) is a Finnish guitarist.

Liimatainen is one of the founding members of the power metal band " Sonata Arctica ", which was created in 1996 under the name " Tricky Beans". Although he took a young age some guitar lessons, most of his art he taught but even with. When he started with about 12 years of playing guitar, he was of " Guns N 'Roses ' guitarist Slash and Kirk Hammett ( " Metallica " ) inspired. Today he called Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and John Petrucci in particular ( " Dream Theater " ) as his biggest musical influences. These include as Disturbed, Dream Theater, and Metallica.

Liimatainen plays Ibanez guitars (including the Custom Shop models RG, Custom Shop Destroyer, RG2120XTB, RG 1527CB, USA CUSTOM RG " Street Wise ", RG560 'and the JPM P4).

From 2004, he also participated in the songwriting for his main band "Sonata Arctica ". So the title My Selene come on the album Reckoning Night and the intro Prelude for Reckoning, which uA can be found on the live album and live DVD For the Sake of Revenge, completely from his pen.

In August 2007, Sonata Arctica was known to have separated from Liimatainen. As the successor to Elias Viljanen was presented.

He is currently studying English language at the University.

Cain's Offering

In spring 2009, Liimatainen announced on its MySpace page his new band Cain's Offering known where, inter alia, Stratovarius Timo Kotipelto singer and ex - Sonata Arctica keyboardist Mikko Härkingen have found a place. The first album Gather the Faithful appeared in summer 2009. The music and the lyrics are completely out of Liimatainen.

Side projects

In 2000 he added a guitarist and keyboardist along with Emppu Vuorinen ( " Nightwish " ), the Finnish power metal band " Altaria " for which he also wrote some songs: Unchain the Rain and Falling Again, both on the album Divinity can be found. End of June 2005 leaving Jani " Altaria " due to his commitments to "Sonata Arctica ".

Jani has a side project with the keyboardist for Sonata Arctica, Henrik Klingenberg, entitled " Graveyard Shift ". Liimatainen is active in the band Dream Asylum and Sydänpuu; in the latter under the pseudonym " Allan Anderssen ". Also for the young band Sturm & Drang he wrote among other things the song The River Runs Dry for her new album Rock'n Roll Children and also played some solos.
