Rick Chaffee

Frederick Stoddard II "Rick" Chaffee ( born January 10, 1945 in Rutland, Vermont ) is a former American alpine skier.

Chaffee took six years for the U.S. National Team at the World Cup. During this time he reached the podium three times, always in the slalom, and a further 23 times was a place in the top 10, his best finish a second place in March 1970 in Heavenly Valley, California, after he already could reach two third places in 1968. Furthermore, Chaffee had participated in Grenoble in the slalom and giant slalom in 1968. He came up with the places nine and 15 Four years later, in Sapporo, he was in the giant slalom and 30th in slalom difference already from the first final round.

Chaffee comes from a very skiinteressierten family: his sister Suzy also occurred in alpine ski racing at the Olympic Winter Games 1968. His cousin Jonathan was biathlete and together with his sister Kim also skier for Harvard University.
