Rico (dog)

Rico ( * December 1994 † 2008) was a Border Collie dog from Germany. He became famous after 1999 "Wetten, dass. " On the television program had shown that he could assign 77 words each toys and pick up the items on command from an adjacent room.

Followed by appearances in other TV shows, such as Star TV. Rico was finally able to distinguish more than 250 different words. [A 1]

His prowess in learning words were scientifically studied at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology and published in the prestigious journal Science. It has been demonstrated that the dog learned by the so-called "fast mapping ", a kind of process of elimination, which had been established only in children of men.
