The manor to Kürbitz in Vogtland was a good family of Feilitzsch of which has survived only one part of the mansion today.

History

Named after its located in the courtyard of the headquarters family Feilitzsch counted in 1300 around to the landlords in Kürbitz. Jobst of Feilitzsch acquired in the late 15th century in place existing outworks and thus founded the manor Kürbitz. A former water castle, a feast house, on the river crossing of the White Elster is later to the mansion. About 700 years until 1945, the house is owned by the noble family. A prominent figure in the history of the property was Urban Caspar Freiherr von Feilitzsch, Margrave of Brandenburg Privy Council, Chancellor and fief judge. In the 17th century, it was built by the conversion into a residential castle to this day to be recognized building form. The original medieval tower house wearing a cantilevered truss tower with a steep gable roof. At the beginning of the 19th century took place on the north and east by an extension Attachments with hipped roofs. Inside the baroque layout essentially remained. In the years 1936-1938 the building was renovated. After the end of the Second World War, the mansion was a hostel for displaced native German. 1961, the former potato distillery was destroyed by a negligently caused fire. Other free-standing commercial building on the site of the manor were used less and less, they fell and were eventually demolished. The mansion, built in the upper area until 1987 as a residence. In the lower section rooms were used as a school kitchen and the community library was housed in the building.

On the morning of November 11, 1987 there was a devastating fire. Floor and roof fell victim to the flames and the mansion has been preserved with difficulty from utter destruction. Committed residents from Kürbitz erected soon after a temporary roof cover to protect the building as the weather. This was the rescue from utter decay over a period of almost 20 years.

After the reunification of Germany initially Mr. Joachim Freiherr von Feilitzsch care of the erstwhile seat of his ancestors. Since 2005, a Foundation for the rescue and preservation of the mansion committed. The Foundation manor Kürbitz eV ended with the owner of the property, the municipality Weischlitz, a lease agreement and tried to conceptually also a future use. Versatile activities enabled the receipt of donations and the granting of aid, so that in 2007 a ​​comprehensive emergency safety of the building could be carried out. Roof and attic have been completely rebuilt. Exposed parts of the masonry were stabilized and carried out restoration work on the truss.

In December 2011, planned the community Weischlitz, in a tender, the sale of the property.
