River Brora

The Brora is a river in the Scottish Highland Unitary Authority. It is formed by the confluence of three rivers in 239 m height a few kilometers north of Dalnessie in traditional Scottish county of Sutherland. The source rivers originate at altitudes of 460-490 m above sea level. From there, it flows 42 km in a southeasterly direction. Here it flows over a length of seven kilometers all three basins of Loch Brora. Finally, the Brora Brora opens into the Moray Firth.

The Brora was in the past as one of the best rivers for trout and salmon fishing in Scotland. In Loch Brora the Duke of Sutherland established the end of the 19th century, a salmon farming. In 1873 1.105.000 eggs were collected there.
