The River Irt is a river in Lake District, Cumbria, England. The River Irt is created as an outflow of Wast Water at its western end. The tortuous course of the river alternates between a Western and a südsüdwestlichen direction. Between the towns of Drigg and Ravenglass, the river flows in a southerly direction only by a low spit of land separated from the sea, until he at Ravenglass in the estuary, which is formed from its course, the river Esk and the River Mite, opens. This estuary then goes into the Irish Sea.
