The Lagan (Irish At Lagáin, in ancient logia ) is a river in Northern Ireland.

It rises at the Slieve Croob in the mountains of County Down and flows about 60 km above Dromara, Dromore, Moira and Lisburn to Belfast. There he runs into the Belfast Lough ( Bay of Belfast).

Tributaries are the Ravernet, the Carryduff and the Farset. In 1994, a weir in Belfast, Lagan Weir the to keep the water level constant. From here, the river becomes the estuary.

Both Queen's University Belfast Boat Club as well as other clubs do water sports on the Lagan.
