Riverside Ground

The Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground, Emirates Durham ICG short, formerly Riverside County Cricket Ground or shortly Riverside Ground, is the latest test -match stadium in England and the home of Durham County Cricket Club.

Stadium

The stadium is located in Chester -le-Street, County Durham and has international matches a spectator capacity of 17,000. The ends of the pitch hot Lumley and Finchale End End. The stadium is dominated by the picturesque Lumley Castle.

The construction of the stadium was a condition for the approval of the Durham CCC, becoming the eighteenth and so far last first-class County. On 18 May 1995, the first home game against Warwickshire CCC took place, the first One- Day International Cricket World Cup was followed during 1999 in England. Final in the series of the English Test Match Grounds it was taken with a Test against Zimbabwe in 2003.

In 2009, it was announced that Riverside will get his first Ashes Test match in 2013, after it still had a disadvantage compared to Cardiff in 2009.
