1999 Cricket World Cup

The ICC Cricket World Cup 1999, which was held in England from May 14 to June 20, 1999, was the seventh Cricket World Cup. The World Cup will be held in the One- Day International format, in which each team plays each innings over a maximum of 50 over. Australia overtook include the title in the final against Pakistan for the second time.

Participant

As participants were present in addition to the nine nations with test status, Bangladesh, Kenya and Scotland, who were able to prevail in the ICC Trophy in 1997, qualified. The 12 participants were thus:

Venues

As a stadium venues in Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland and Wales were selected in addition to 17 stadiums in England ever.

Format

In two preliminary round groups of six teams against each played, with one win, two points, a draw or no result earned 1 points. It qualified the first three of each group for the so-called Super Six, in which each team was playing against the teams to which it was not taken in the first round and the results of which they took over in this round. It then qualified the first four of the table for the semifinals, whose winners then playing off the final. Overall, there was thus 42 encounters.

Preliminary round

The preliminary round was played in two groups of six teams, with each of the first three of a group qualified for the Super Six. In the tables, the following designations are used:
