1997 ICC Trophy

The ICC Trophy 1997 was the qualifying tournament of the non-test nations for the Cricket World Cup 1999. The tournament was held between March 24 and April 12, 1997 in Malaysia. Winner was Bangladesh, located in the final against Kenya was able to prevail with 2 wickets. Furthermore, Scotland qualified for the World Cup.

Format

The 22 teams were divided into the first round on two groups of six and two groups of five teams. The respective group winners and second qualified for the second round. This was again discharged as two groups of four teams. The group winners and second qualified for the semifinals. Their winning again then carried out the final.
