West Africa cricket team

The West African Cricket Team was a cricket team which took part in international competitions 1976-2003. It was represented at the State Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, and was thus one of the " national ", in which players from more than one state came.

History

The first part in the ICC Trophy ICC Trophy took place in 1982. Here, the team succeeded no victory, was in the group, however, due to numerous No Results only penultimate. After the team exposed two times was the next part in the ICC Trophy in 1994. During the preliminary round, the team finished last, but was able to win the consolation round and then finished in 17th place overall. Three years later proved the team in their first round group ahead of Argentina the penultimate rank. In the consolation round, the team managed to reach the 18th place overall. Shortly before the hosting in 2001 the team was withdrawn due to denied visas in 2003 and finally dissolved. Since then, the Nigerians as an Associate Member and the other three countries as an affiliate member this half of the International Cricket Council in part.
