Germany national cricket team
The German Cricket Team represented Germany in international cricket matches and tournaments.
From the international federation, the International Cricket Council (ICC ), Germany is currently (August 2010) performed on the shared 43rd place, in Europe 10th place.
History
Although the German Cricket Federation ( DCB) in 1991 Member of the ICC was, Germany was already wearing from 1989, two international matches against Denmark.
The first tournament in which Germany had participated in the 1990 European Cup Cricketer in Guernsey. The second edition in 1992 in Worksop (England) won the team and could therefore against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC ) at Lord 's Cricket Ground compete. The English soccer player Gary Lineker played in this encounter for the MCC, but scored only one run, causing him to remark that he is always one achieved against Germany.
The first European Nations Cup in 1993 from Germany taught in Berlin. In 1995, the team took part in Oxford at the European Nations Cup. For the time still ICC Trophy called Qualifying Tournament for the Cricket World Cup Germany was after it had become an Associate Member of the ICC in 1999, for the first time allowed to start in Canada in 2001. However, the team did not come on the first round also.
The ICC World Cricket League with several divisions forms since 2007 to qualify for the World Cup. Germany reached in Division Five, 2008 in Jersey the seventh place among twelve participants.
