Germany national badminton team

The German national badminton is the totality of the Federal Executive of the German Badminton Association (DBV). In him German athletes find that sporting the Federal Republic of Germany represent both in single as well as in team competitions nationally and internationally in badminton sport.

History

The first squad of the DBV in 1953 launched. The first team international match took place on 10 January 1954 in Bonn against the Netherlands held and was won with 9:2. The Netherlands with 57 international matches and the record opponents of the German team, followed by England with 51 countries fighting.

Squad Policies

The squad provisions may vary according to the specifications of the range sports performance of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB ). The total squad is divided into four sections and includes the cadres of the DBV AD: For the A-team finishing in the top eight at the current Olympic Games or World Championships is necessary. The B-Team consists of the four highest-ranking Germans, who are named in the national rankings. The ranking results from the ranking tournaments that the DBV in five disciplines ( men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles ) can deliver. Participation in training units of a federal support point of the PRV is provided for this purpose. The C- squad consists of outstanding young people aged between 16 and 24, which result from the top two places in the respective age group. Prerequisite for nomination is the training at any base of the DBV at the federal, regional, or junior level. The D - squad consists of young people between 14-17 years and usually results from the four highest-ranking Germans in the respective age group.

The Squad determined a specially decorated body of the DBV, which meets twice a year and its proposals for the Squad submits to the DBV- Bureau for approval. The Executive Committee consists of the Vice- President of competitive sport of DOSB, the DBV sports director, the federal badminton coach, the National Youth Badminton coach and an athlete representative.

International Team Competition

The German badminton national team to occur in most major international events for badminton teams of the umbrella organization of the DBV, the Badminton World Federation (BWF ), such as the Badminton World Championships, badminton Championship, Olympic Games, the BWF Super Series, the BWF Grand Prix (< $ 120,000 in prize money ), the BWF Grand Prix Gold ( > $ 120,000 in prize money ), the International Series, the International Challenges, the Future Series, the Thomas Cup for men, the Uber Cup for women, or the mixed Sudirman Cup.

World Ranking places

High -placed German in the men's singles in 2011 was Marc Zwiebler on place 17 of the BWF, with a total of 18 tournaments played and almost 42312 points. In women's singles, Juliane Schenk finished with just under 51890 points and 19 tournaments played the 7th place in the world rankings. In the men's double Ingo Kindervater and Johannes Schoettler occupied with 40580 points and 12 matches fought tournaments the 15th Place. In women's doubles, ranked 14 with 14 matches fought tournaments and 38246 points were Sandra Marinello and Birgit Michels. In mixed doubles, it was ranked number 14 Michael Fuchs & Birgit Michels also with 43340 points and 10 tournaments.

The front world ranking places are doing mostly dominated by Asians as Chinese or Koreans. Badminton Tournaments gain similar popularity in Asia as in Europe and the rest of the world, except the United States, otherwise just football championships.

Former national players

Record national badminton until 2011 Nicole Grether with 106 inserts. On 6 February 2007 she came to Erlangen at the game against the Czech Republic for the hundredth time in the national team for use. Grether will, however, continue to compete because of the close friendship with their many years of Canadian woman doubles partner Charmaine Reid, for the National Badminton Canada.

Promotion

The German national badminton is funded by the DOSB, Barmer health insurance through the high performance funding from the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the athletes funded by the German Sports Aid Foundation. The male and female players of the various national squad are dressed up to 2016 by the Japanese sporting goods manufacturer Yonex.
