2019 Cricket World Cup

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is the 12th Cricket World Cup by the International Cricket Council. The World Cup is being held in England and Wales. After 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999 so its fifth edition, the Cricket World Cup held on British soil.

Qualification

At the World Cup in 2019 ten teams will participate. The number of participants was reduced by four compared to the World Cups in 2011 and 2015.

The seven highest placings for ICC world rankings automatically qualify. Two other participants will be determined by a specially organized tournament. This therefore allows the so-called associate and afiliate members to participate. For the first time there is also the possibility that one of the ten test cricket nations can not qualify for the World Cup.

England is automatically participants of the tournament as host nation.
