Rivière Noire District

Black River is a district of Mauritius on the western side of the island. A tourist attraction, the Tamarin Falls. The district capital is Bambous. Previously it was Tamarin. His face after it is the third largest district of Mauritius, but the smallest in terms of population. The area enjoys a unique Mauritian tropical forests, including those at Black River Pass.

Tourism

Meanwhile, several fishing villages such as Flic -en- Flac, Tamarin and Le Morne have been converted to tourist places. Tamarin is the only area in which the surfing during the months of July and August is possible. Flic -en- Flac, with the longest beach of the island. Le Morne came to notoriety as initially hidden during the colonial period escaped slaves on the neighboring mountain, and finally committed suicide due to lack of escape.

Le Morne is now a popular area for kite and wind surfers.
