Roadwar 2000

Roadwar 2000, a book published in 1986 computer game that was published by Strategic Simulations ( SSI). It belongs to the category of turn-based strategy games and is set in a post-apocalyptic world, which - similar to Mad Max - has fallen into lawlessness and being terrorized by roving bands.

Description

1999 a deadly virus by a group of terrorists was released, which then led to the collapse of the U.S.. Different gangs and militias have evolved out of the chaos and fighting in their respective territories for supplies, food, medicines and vehicles. These vehicles have become the main means of transport.

The player starts as leader of a small gang and have to make it compile with the time a militia of respectable size. On his way through the desolate America is in grappling with gangs, cannibals, religious fanatics and mutants. The erbeutenden vehicles to serve as important weapons.

If you are successful enough, the remaining ( and relatively powerless ) American government will pay attention to one and asks to assist in the search for eight scientists. These should be brought to a secret base, in order to develop an antidote to the deadly disease.

Platforms

Roadwar2000 in 1986 for the Commodore 64 and the Apple II released. 1987 was ported to the Amiga, Atari ST, Apple IIgs and DOS, programmers conversions were the Westwood Associates. 1987 also followed the successor Roadwar Europe.
