Rob Tallas

Robert Wayne Talla ( born March 20, 1973 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender and current trainer, who played in its active period from 1989 to 2005 included for the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. Since 2009 he has worked as a goalkeeper coach with the Florida Panthers.

Career

Talla started his career at the South Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League and moved in the meantime to the Seattle Thunderbirds. In the Charlotte Checkers, he had his first professional engagement in the 1994/95 season. About the Providence Bruins he made it in 1995 in the National Hockey League and played there first five years with the Boston Bruins before the Chicago Blackhawks took him into the team. However, it was due to unconvincing performances never on the position of Substitute goalkeeper addition, although he had recorded a total of 99 appearances in the NHL.

From 2001 to 2003 he served as first-choice goalkeeper for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League, this position but had to share with Sébastien Caron. In the summer of 2003, he finally moved to Europe and took a good season with HPK Hämeenlinna in the Finnish SM- liiga behind. The following year he was contracted by the Austrian Club EC Red Bull Salzburg, who had managed to climb in the Austrian Hockey League in the season before. Talla but not proved to be the much-needed support for the inexperienced team and was released early. The team finished without him their inaugural season in last place, and Talla ended his active career.

Since 2009 he is a consultant for the goalkeeper training of the Florida Panthers in action.
