Robbie Coltrane

Robbie Coltrane, OBE; Anthony Robert McMillan ( born March 30, 1950 in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom ) is a British actor.

Life

After training at the Glasgow School of Art, he took out of reverence for the jazz saxophonist John Coltrane at the last name and worked on numerous British theaters. His breakthrough came in 1978 with the play Slab Boys at London Traverse Theatre. By the way Coltrane appeared as a stand- up comedian. The early 1980s, he starred in the comedy series The Comic Strip Presents, Blackadder and Saturday Night Live with. For Tutti Frutti he received a BAFTA nomination.

From 1993 to 2006 he played in the crime series Cracker ( Cracker ) in the title role. The very popular with the public and critics series has been honored with numerous awards. Coltrane was awarded for his portrayal of police psychologist Dr. Edward " Fitz " Fitzgerald for three consecutive years the BAFTA for Best TV Actor.

In 1995, he starred in the James Bond film GoldenEye as Valentin Dimitrovich Zukovsky, a role he also took over The world is not enough 1999. Large international notoriety gained Coltrane by the films of the Harry Potter novels, in which he 2001 - the half-giant Rubeus Hagrid played 2011.
