Róbert Gunnarsson (born 22 May 1980, Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic handball player. The pivot player plays at Paris Saint -Germain HB and is also Icelandic national team, for which he has been denied 233 countries matches and thrown 686 goals. When the lion he wears jersey number 10 Gunnarsson has a body length of 1.91 m and weighs 100 kg. With his girlfriend Svala he has two daughters and a son.
Gunnarsson started playing handball in Fylkir and moved to Fram Reykjavik later. About the Danish club Aarhus GF 2005 he came to VfL Gummersbach, with whom he four years later won the EHF Cup. In December 2009, his move to the Rhein -Neckar Löwen was announced at the end of the season 2009/10. After two years with the Lions, he joined the French first division side Paris Saint- Germain HB. With Paris in 2013, he won the championship.
He took part in the Iceland World Cup in Germany in 2007 and retired from there in the quarter-final against Denmark. In the 2008 Olympics he won the silver medal. 2010 reached Gunnarsson at the European Championships in Austria 3rd place. In 2010 he won with the VfL Gummersbach the European Cup Winners Cup Winners' Cup. In summer 2012, he participated in the Olympic Games in London.
