Robert Hugh Molesworth Kindersley, 3rd Baron Kindersley

Robert Hugh Molesworth Kindersley, 3rd Baron Kindersley, DL ( born August 18, 1929October 9, 2013 ) was a British peer, politician and businessman.

Life and career

Kindersley was born on 18 August 1929, son of Hugh Kindersley, 2nd Baron Kindersley and Nancy Farnsworth Boyd, daughter of Dr. Geoffrey Boyd. He had an older sister, Patricia Nassau Kindersley ( 1922-2010 ).

He served in the Scots Guards and served in Malaya in 1949. He reached there the rank of Lieutenant. From 1957 to 1996 he was director of London Assurance. The Witan Investment Co Ltd was Kindersley 1958-1985 Director. From 1959 to 1967 he was director of Steel Company of Wales. From 1960 to 1991 he was holding office at Lazard Bros and Co Ltd, from 1963 to 1968 with at Marconi, at the Sun Alliance & London Insurance Group from 1965 to 1996, from 1966 to 1968 at the English Electric and 1968-1970 GEC Ltd..

In the British Match Corporation Ltd. from 1969 to 1973 he was director from 1973 to 1985, Swedish Match Co, from 1986 to 2001 at the Maersk Co Ltd from 1990 to 2001, Maersk India. He was Chairman ( Chairman ) of the Commonwealth Development corporation integrated by 1980 until 1989. Between 1990 and 2000, he led the Siam Selective Growth Trust. In the Brent Walker Group plc from 1991 to 1992 he was Chairman.

From 1975 to 1980 he was Deputy Chairman ( Deputy Chairman ) of the Advisory Council ( Advisory Council ) of the Export Credits Guarantee Department ( ECGD ). In the Export Group for the Constructional Industries Kindersley was 1961-1985 financial consultant ( Financial Advisor). From 1976 to 1978 he was chairman of the British Bankers' Association. From 1976 to 1986 he was President of the Anglo - Taiwan Trade Committee. Most recently, he was a member of the Institute d' Intelligence Eac.

He belonged to the Hereditary Peerage Association.

Membership in the House of Lords

Kindersley inherited after his father's death in 1976 the title of Baron Kindersley and the time associated seat in the House of Lords. There he sat as a cross Bencher. His inaugural address was delivered on July 26, 1982 on the subject of economic policy.

Until the mid- 1990s he reported sporadically word. He spoke on the topics of complementary medicine, the Osteopaths Bill [HL ], multiply the Housing and Urban Development Bill and most recently on 5 June 1995 on the Commonwealth Development Corporation (No. 2 ) Bill [HL ].

His seat he lost by the House of Lords Act 1999. For one of the remaining seats he did not present himself.

Family

Kindersley married on September 4th, 1954 Marigold Venice Hill ( born 1940 ), daughter of Lord Arthur Francis Henry Hill and Ishabel Wilhelmina Sheila MacDougall. In 1989 she got divorced. In the same year he married Patricia Norman, daughter of Brigadier Hugh Norman.

From the first marriage three sons and one daughter were born. The second eldest son died in 1991. His eldest son Rupert ( b. 1955 ) followed him into 2013 as Baron Kindersley.
