Robert K. Weiss

Life

Weiss studied at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Began in 1977 ( shortly called ZAZ ) with Kentucky Fried Movie his long and successful collaboration with Jim Abrahams and brothers David Zucker and Jerry Zucker. Together with the director of the film, John Landis, he produced in 1980 with Blues Brothers a cult film. ZAZ who had landed in the meantime without white with The Incredible Journey in a crazy airplane another hit, caught up with him in 1982 for the TV series The Naked Gun with Leslie Nielsen in the lead role as producers back. The series was not a success despite enormous potential, and after six episodes it has already been reinstated. First, the paths of ZAZ and White parted again.

The mid-1980s White began working as a director. He directed several music videos for Weird Al Yankovic, which he also wrote and produced. In 1987, he was with John Landis and Joe Dante one of the directors of the film Amazon Women on the Moon or why the Americans have the Channel fully and produced the comedy Dragnet with Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd.

1988 came again to cooperate with ZAZ. Based on the television series from 1982 was The Naked Gun is a worldwide success and drew two sequels. White appeared in all three films in supporting roles, as in 1989 UHF - transmitter with limited hope with Weird Al Yankovic, which he in turn gave cameo appearances in the Naked Gun movies. In 1991 he produced the John Candy, Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd occupied with top comedians film Valkenvania - The wonderful world of madness, in which he also played a small role. However, this came to an absolute flop at the box office and was nominated for six Golden Raspberries ( including white as the worst producer). Part Two and Three of The Naked Gun, however, were in 1991 or 1994 again highly successful.

In 1995, he developed the Emmy -nominated television series Sliders - The gate into a strange dimension and produced the pilot episode. Since 2003 he works as a producer again with David Zucker together to Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4 followed in 2008 Superhero Movie.
