Robert Kuok

Robert Kuok ( born October 6, 1923 in Johor Bahru, Johor ) is a Malaysian entrepreneur.

Life

Kuok is of Chinese origin. He studied at Raffles Institution in Singapore. According to the American Forbes Magazine Kuok is the richest Malaysian. He controls the company Shangri -La Hotels and Resorts and Perlis Plantations that wins sugar from sugar cane. At the company Wilmar International, which produces palm oil and is led by his nephew Kuok Khoon Hong, he has a significant shareholding. He also controls the daily newspaper South China Morning Post. Kuok lives in Hong Kong, is married and has eight children.
