Robert L. Shafer

Robert L. Shafer ( born May 10, 1932 in Amery, Wisconsin) is an American lawyer and lobbyist. Since June 8, 2004, the Knights of the Sovereign Military Order of the Permanent Observer of the Order in the rank of ambassador at the United Nations in New York City.

Life

Shafer graduated from St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, where he received a Bachelor of Arts (BA). His Juris Doctor ( JD) he was at the College of Law at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. As a lawyer, he joined the Federal Bar Association, received the Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Bar Association of the State of Wisconsin.

Shafer is married, his wife Ellen is a Lady of the Order of Malta.

Shafer was 30 years for Pfizer, a world represented pharmaceutical company, active and held several high positions in the company. Among other things, he was responsible for public relations and contacts with the government. In 1996, he went into retirement. Since June 2004 he is the Permanent Observer of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations in New York City.
