Robert M. Gagné

Robert Mills Gagné (August 21, 1916 in North Andover, Massachusetts, † 28 April 2002) was an American experimental psychologist and educator.

Gagné received his PhD in 1940 in experimental psychology at Brown University. He is considered the founder of the " Instructional Design " ( instructional design ).

He taught at Florida State University and was in the United States over several decades as one of the key personalities in the field of Educational Psychology (Educational Psychology) and didactics.

In the 1970s, he worked in a number of projects for the U.S. military and worked as the development of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD ) - approach to the planning of complex teaching systems. He was also involved as a pioneer in the use of computer-based learning method (CBT ).
