Work

For the purposes of the Community experience with his interpreters Moran wrote a series of graphically notated scores, although control structure elements, but the performers zuwiesen a uniquely creative role in the 60s. In addition, Moran has " performance art " events composed and organized, so for example in August 1969: " Thirty Nine Minutes for Thirty Nine cars " - a misleading title for a work in which 100,000 performers and almost the whole downtown San Francisco were involved - or " Hallelujah" ( April 1971 ) for 70,000 residents Bethlehem (Pennsylvania ) and 20 marching bands, 40 church choirs, gospel groups, etc. His third and last city composition " Pachelbel promenade" - for various instrumental groups including Styrian folk music and boys' choir, created for the city of Graz in Austria.

He composed five operas, including " Juniper Tree" in collaboration with Philip Glass and " Desert of Roses " for the Houston Grand Opera, "From the Towers of the Moon" for the Minnesota Opera, and the chamber opera " Dracula Diary". In addition, numerous choral works have emerged. Among them: "The Eternal Hour" for any number of orchestras and choirs; "Seven Sounds unseen " for 20 solo voices to texts by John Cage or the Requiem " Chant du Cygne ", based on the last words Mozart.

His work first performed in Munich in 2001 "Voices of the last seal " to a text by King Ludwig II appears in October 2004 for the first time at the small U.S. label INNOVA on CD.
