Robert Prytz

Robert Prytz ( born January 12, 1960 in Malmö, Sweden ) is a former Swedish football player. In 1986 he was awarded Sweden's Footballer of the Year.

Career

Prytz started his career at Malmö FF. With the club he stood in 1979 at the Munich Olympic Stadium in the final of the European Champions' Cup. However, the game ended with a 0-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest. In 1982 he joined the Glasgow Rangers, where he scored 12 goals in 77 games. In 1985 he moved back to Sweden for IFK Gothenburg before he went into the winter break to BSC Young Boys in Switzerland, with which he Swiss football champion in 1986. In 1987, he sat down at the election of the best foreigners in the Swiss narrowly defeated by Uli Stielike.

In 1987, he joined Bayer 05 Uerdingen in the Bundesliga. After only one season with 32 games and scored nine goals, he moved on to Italy, however. First he played with Atalanta, before moving to Hellas Verona in 1989. His career ended in Scotland, the FC Kilmarnock.

Prytz debuted in 1980 in the Swedish national team. Until 1989, he played 56 times for his country, scoring 13 goals.
