Robert Tapert
Robert Gerad Tapert ( born May 14, 1955 often just: Rob Tapert, Robert G. Tapert, or Rip Tapert ) is an American film and television producer, screenwriter, director and actor. He is mainly known by the Evil Dead trilogy and shot in New Zealand U.S. TV series Hercules and Xena - Warrior Princess.
Life
Robert Tapert Gerad is brother of actress Mary Beth Tapert. During the filming of the television series Hercules and Xena - Warrior Princess, he learned the New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless, whom he married on 28 March 1998 and with whom he has two sons.
He studied at Michigan State University, where he has shared with Ivan Raimi a room. By Ivan, he got to his brothers Sam Raimi and Ted Raimi know. From this period dates the contact to the actor Bruce Campbell. From this relationship, especially the Evil Dead trilogy created a number of successful film projects. With Sam Raimi, he runs the production company Ghost House Productions, which films like The Grudge - The Curse and Curse - The Grudge 2 or Boogeyman - The black man has produced. With him Tapert also produced the series Hercules and Xena, in which Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell participated as an actor. Tapert himself was seen in the two series also repeatedly in small cameo roles.
