Roberta Anastase

Roberta Alma Anastase ( born March 27, 1976 in Ploieşti, Prahova County ) is a Romanian politician and a former Member of the European Parliament for the Partidul Democrat or for the Partidul Democrat - Liberal.

Life

Anastase visited until 1994, the school in her hometown ( Liceul teoretic Michael the Brave ). In 1994 she was voted Miss Romania and represented her country at the Miss Universe contest. After studying at the Faculty of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work and the Faculty of Political Sciences ( European Studies ), University of Bucharest. She then worked from 1996 to 1999 as Director-General and later (1999 /2000) served as Director of the PR Department of the trading company Cibela whose bankruptcy tore two Romanian banks with it. They then moved professionally into politics and then was ministerial adviser in the Department of Transportation (June- December 2000) at Traian Basescu and expert in the Romanian Parliament ( January-May 2001). From 2002 to 2004 she was once again employed as the general director of a trading company.

Policy

Roberta Alma Anastase was from October 2001 Member of the youth organization of the PD (Democratic Party), for which she exercised many different functions. It was in November 2000, the PD candidate for the Chamber of Deputies in the election district of Bucharest, but still could not get into parliament. Within her party, she was Deputy Chairman from October 2001 onwards District of PD in Ploieşti, as from October 2001, Prahova County (February 2006 as the first chairman ). They also took over the Office of the Deputy Chairman of the Organization of Democratic Women. From 2001 to 2003 she was vice-president of the Romanian Youth Council and from 2002 to 2003 Member of the common control group of Romanian Youth Council and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In the Romanian Parliament she was a staff of the Subcommittee on Equal Opportunities of the Chamber of Deputies.

Since May 2003, Anastase Executive Secretary of the PD and candidate for the Chamber of Deputies on list number one on the Justice and Truth Alliance in the electoral district of Prahova. In December 2004, she was then Member of the Romanian Parliament (Camera Deputaţilor ) and as of September 2005 Observer in the European Parliament.

In the wake of Romania's accession to the European Union from 2007 to 2008 it belonged to the European Parliament and was a member in the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats. For your faction she sat there as a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Delegation for relations with the Gulf States, including Yemen. As a deputy she was represented in the Committee on Culture and Education, the Subcommittee on Human Rights and by the Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committees EU -Armenia, EU -Azerbaijan and EU-Georgia.

After the parliamentary elections in 2008, for which she won a mandate for its now in Partidul Liberal Democrat (PD -L), renamed Party, she was elected on 19 December 2008 as Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies.

Honors

It has the honorary citizenships of the U.S. state of Nebraska, and the City of District Heights, Maryland.
