Robotinos is a mobile robotic system for education and research of the company Festo Didactic. Robotinos is moved by an omnidirectional drive. This Robotinos can move in the plane completely free ( holonomic ). The existing on Robotinos Industrial PC PC104 allows autonomous driving.
About Wireless LAN sends Robotinos sensor values to an external PC. Control values can be sent from the external PC to Robotinos. This allows control programs are executed both directly on Robotinos, as well as on a workstation. Robotinos comes with the graphical programming environment Robotinos View. In Robotino View control programs are represented as data flow graphs. In a sequential function chart control programs can be integrated into an overall process. In addition Robotinos can in C, C , Java,. Net, Matlab, Simulink, LabVIEW, Robot Operating System ( ROS) and MRDS be programmed.
The omni-directional drive system consists of three driven Allseitenrädern. The wheels are arranged at an angle of 120 ° to each other. As sensor Robotinos has a bumper bar, infrared distance sensors, a color camera with VGA resolution, optical encoders on the motors, power measurement at the whole system and the individual motors, and battery voltage monitoring. As more sensors are a gyroscope, the North Star Company evolutionary robotics, as well as a laser scanner available.
For the input and output Robotinos has several interfaces:
- USB
- Ethernet
- 8 digital and 8 analog inputs
- 8 digital outputs
- Additional motor output to drive high loads
- Additional encoder input
The power supply is provided by two 12V/5Ah lead gel batteries.
