Rock ‘n’ Roll Mardi Gras Marathon
The Mardi Gras Marathon is a marathon, which takes place in New Orleans since 1965. It received its name because of the temporal proximity to the Mardi Gras festivities. The program also includes a half marathon.
History
2009, the traditional event, which was previously hosted by the New Orleans Track Club ( NOTC ), adopted by the Competitor Group and their Rock ' n ' Roll Marathon Series has been integrated.
At the premiere of the now officially Rock ' n ' Roll Mardi Gras Marathon mentioned events Berhane Adere ran 1:07:52 hours, the previously fastest half marathon time on U.S. soil, beating Kimberley Smith, who set a New Zealand record to three seconds. Martin Lel Kiptoo prevailed in the men's Olympic marathon champion Samuel against Kamau Wanjiru. 2011 brought with Kimberley Smith 1:07:36 h the U.S. All- Comers record, the Defar had improved the Philadelphia Half Marathon, back to New Orleans.
