Rock Bottom Remainders

The Rock Bottom Remainders is a band from the USA, which was " sometime in the last century, " founded his own words by Kathi Kamen Goldmark. The band consists solely of famous writers, journalists and writers who find themselves together once or twice a year in a band.

History

The idea for a consisting only of members of the writer's guild band got Goldmark in a car. Their first gig the band had at the 1992 American Booksellers Association convention in Anaheim. It was followed by other performances, among others in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and duets with international stars such as Bruce Springsteen. The " Remainders " have no record deal and no publications, but still among the most popular amateur bands in the world.

The name

The name is an ironic description of the band. It is made up of 'rock bottom' - which loosely translated means as much as: on the ground or low point - and ' remainder ', which is a technical term from the publishing industry and refers to the unweaned edition of a book that is sold at a low price, approximately corresponding to the German " dead stock ".
