Rocket 88 (band)

Rocket 88 was founded in 1978, British boogie band and supergroup, named after the song by Pete Johnson.

History

Alexis Korner, Jack Bruce ( Cream), Charlie Watts ( Rolling Stones), Bob Hall and Ian Stewart ( Rolling Stones) did in 1978 together to boogie music in the style of the early 1950s to make. A number of concerts were played, one of which was included in the rotation Club in Hanover in 1979 with the mobile recording studio with the Rolling Stones and released in 1981 as an album called Rocket 88. After the death of Ian Stewart and Alexis Korner, the project broke up in mid -1980. Distinctive for their sound was also a horn section, which consisted of various formations. 2011 appeared a tribute album of pianist Ben Waters for Ian Stewart died in 1985, on which with Bring It On Home to Me, recorded in 1984 at the Montreux Jazz Festival, also a title of Rocket 88 is included.
